For those who don’t know VANT, how would you sum yourselves up in a sentence?
A challenging punk rock quartet – and the first British band to talk about anything vaguely important since The Clash.

Can you talk us through the inspiration behind your new EP ‘Karma Seeker’?
Trying to find some sort of explanation for the ongoing fear and anxieties we feel as a species, while we try to comprehend the complexities of this planet we call Earth.

Tell us about your first pair of DM’s:
They were black. Size 11.

List three tracks you’re listening to:
The Lemon Twigs – As Long As We’re Together
Frank Ocean – Ivy
PJ Harvey – The Wheel

What’s your favourite thing about the city you live in [Newcastle]?
There is everything and anything happening all at once, good or bad, it is pretty much exactly like the concept of a parallel universe.

What are you most excited for about the year ahead?
Our headline tour starting at The Cluny in Newcastle on November 12th and culminating in our biggest show ever at London Scala on November 29th.

And finally, what do you stand for?
Universal equality, a better education for our children and a greater commitment to saving our planet and reversing the effect of global warming.
