DM’S BOOT ROOM: NEW ACTS ANNOUNCED

We’ve just confirmed a number of  exciting events for the DM’s Boot Room – our intimate venue in Camden.
After a series of unforgettable shows featuring punk rap royalty Ho99o9, hardcore quintet Higher Power and R&B singer-songwriter Etta Bond, we’ll be bringing an eclectic mix of musicians, artists and creatives to the space.
Events are always free and free drinks are provided by our friends at Brewdog and Jack Daniels, so check out what’s on and get your name on the list.

Dutch Uncles live podcast: Chips of Chorlton

 

Manchester band Dutch Uncles will be bringing a live version of their new Chips of Chorlton podcast to The Boot Room. Expect an animated discussion of chips and music as well as the appearance of some special guests. Anna Prior of indie band Metronomy will be joining the conversation for this episode.

About Chips of Chorlton:

Manchester band Dutch Uncles have launched a podcast Chips of Chorlton. Presented by guitarist Neil Wright, this bi-weekly show will be loosely centred around reviews of chips. Yes, you read that right: chips.
But this theme will provide a sort of spring-board for other topics. Episode 1, for example, also touches on Record Store Day, Spotify revenue and The Courteeners. 

Dutch Uncles are Duncan Wallis, Robin Richards, Peter Broadhead and Andrew Proudfoot. When performing live, they are joined by Neil Wright and Henry Broadhead.

Dr. Martens x Dummy: First Look | London Innovators

Dr. Martens x Dummy magazine present London innovators with Greentea Peng and Miink, two London artists representing the capitals forward thinking take on modern soul music.
Dummy is a music discovery platform that has been at the forefront of cutting edge music for the last ten years. With an editorial website at the centre of everything, Dummy is also launching a streaming label, clothing brand and a series of live events for 2019.

Dr. Martens x Transmission Roundhouse: The Performative Man

A workshop in collaboration with The Roundhouse on visual art direction and positive masculinity for men, focusing on modern male representation in art and media and a screening of Iggy London short film. Before participants go on to learn to art direct others and then shooting their own photos and gifs for social media.

Reprezent Radio Workshop

Take your DJ’ing a few steps further as the Reprezent crew show you the full scope of the CDJ2000 NXS2 and the DJM900 mixer. Not for beginners, this class will be focusing on beat matching by ear and not be sight. Genres covered include electronic, jersey, jungle, footwork, bassline and grime.

Reprezent’s DJs and presenters work in the music industry, run their own clubs and produce their own music.
