In My Docs shine a spotlight on the very cool people who work in our stores and headquarters because they’re the ones who ‘live’ the rebellious, unique Dr. Martens brand … and of course, know how to seriously rock a pair of Doc’s.
Meet Zelyna Sillas, the Assistant Manager of our Portland, Oregon store. We met up with her at our neighborhood record store, Everyday Music, to chat about her style, her hobbies, and her favorite tracks right now.
My name is Zelyna Sillas. I was born in the Bay Area, raised in Central Oregon and moved to New York City at 18. I spent the better part of a decade in NYC before moving to Portland. When I’m not at the shop, I spend my free time outside either rock climbing, taking ballet classes, or coaching snowboarding for a local nonprofit called Snow Days. I also like traveling to Seattle, San Francisco, and back to NYC.
How would you describe your style?
Comfy! If I can eat a burrito and still be cute, then I’m all about it.
Tell us about what you’re wearing.
I’m wearing a white jumpsuit and dark navy quilted coat, denim jacket, pink beanie (from the kids section), and my 1460 White Monos!
What three styles are your current favorites?
Tell us about your first pair of Docs.
What is your go-to place in Portland?
I’m a big fan of my neighborhood bars, Tough Luck, and Grand Army Tavern. I’m obsessed with noodles and love Afuri for ramen. When I want to get out of the city, I head to Mt. Hood to snowboard or go to the coast to surf.
What is the last concert you attended?
A$AP Mob at the Moda Center. It was so good! A$AP Rocky is such a babe.
What three songs are you listening to right now?
Special thanks to Everyday Music.
