DOUBLE DOCS: NYC STYLE BLOGGER JAGLEVER

New York City style blogger Rachel Iwanyszyn — otherwise known as Jaglever on Instagram — is back this year to share some of her signature holiday style. Last year, it was just Rachel wearing the Leona, but today, it’s a subtle Double Docs look for December, featuring Rachel and her boyfriend Chris. The two tie it all together in multiple shades of red: from his lumberjack plaid and cherry red Made In England 1460s, to her red leather moto jacket paired with the coveted velvet 1460 boots in burgundy. Tell us about the looks you styled with your velvet 1460s (and Chris’ MIE 1460s).

I went with an edgy and fun red faux leather jacket that matched my velvet Docs and a skirt to keep it a little fun and girly. Chris matched me with neutrals and his oxblood Docs with a classic plaid shirt!

You and Chris are always styled so well together. Can you give us some tips for coordinating as a couple without drifting into matching territory?

I think something as simple as each person wearing one piece that is a similar color can tie the two looks together! And of course, couples that wear Docs always just seem so badass to me, and never too matchy. Cozy sweaters or leather jackets are another couple favorite of ours.

Regular cotton laces, or satin ribbon for your velvet Docs?

Satin ribbon all the way! It’s the best time to play with something fun and a bit out of the ordinary.

Do you two have any holiday traditions together or in general?

We love doing white elephant with our friends and having holiday get-togethers. We also love taking photos for our holiday card with our dog, Finn. When we travel home — we visit both Florida and Michigan — we have little traditions like getting the local food that we love from the cities we’re from. Disney World has also become a holiday tradition!

What’s your favorite thing about NYC during the holidays?

I love all of the beautiful lights everywhere. Red and green are my favorite colors so naturally, everything is just so eye-catching to me! I also love having a Christmas tree in our apartment.

It’s the time of year for “Best of” lists. What are a couple things on the Rachel and Chris Best of 2018 lists?

In 2018 we took our first out-of-country trip together to Jamaica! That definitely made the top of our list.

What are you looking forward to in 2019?

I’m looking forward to the yearly shift that my style naturally takes and playing more with my photos. I’m also looking forward to where travel takes me, I’d love to go someplace new and exciting!
