DR. MARTENS CHELMSFORD OPENING WITH RAT BOY
Launching six new stores across the U.K. and Ireland, Dr. Martens are excited to announce the opening of their new store in Chelmsford. Throughout August we hosted a series of intimate in-store signings with self proclaimed ‘naughty Essex boys’, RAT BOY in our Leeds, Birmingham and Camden stores. Who better to have launch our new, highly anticipated Chelmsford store than the boys themselves who grew up there.
RAT BOY’s music and visual presentation is innately inspired by street culture and fashion so it’s fitting that he will also design exclusive artwork to feature in-store. With BrewDog supplying the drinks and live performances from local artists, starting with support from Southend punk-inspired band Suspects and a headline performance from RAT BOY, check out the highlights from the evening below…

We play energetic songs with a modern mixture of indie guitar, hiphop and punk. The crowd energy is nutty with walls of death and nice singalongs – RAT BOY’S Jordan Cardy.
Dr. Martens has always been a brand adopted and subverted by musicians, youth cultures and tribes. Dr. Martens Chelmsford will reflect the brands rich history and offer further community based events and meet-ups in the following weeks by working with a range of diverse individuals from the local community.
Stay tuned for future events at the Dr Martens Chelmsford store, including free customisation events.
