Ever heard of the rule of three? It stems from a latin phrase that goes like this: “omne trium perfectum” — loosely translated, everything that comes in threes is perfect. And the first leg of the Dr. Martens Present tour proves it: we hosted three killer shows in New York City, featuring three New York City artists, in three epic locations (which also happen to be our Herald Square, Union Square, and Soho retail locations). Scroll down for a quick recap of the triad, starring the Overcoats, Torres and Caveman, and check out upcoming shows on the Dr. Martens Presents Tour.
Overcoats, August 10, Dr. Martens – Herald Square
It was a good looking crowd.
The eight song setlist featured tracks from the band’s excellent debut album, Young.
Torres, August 17, Dr. Martens – Union Square
A free show from Torres? Yeah, she packed the house. Naturally.
It was definitely a New York scene.
She treated the crowd to plenty of new tracks from her upcoming album, Three Futures, out September 29.
Caveman, August 24, Dr. Martens – Soho
Another packed house, thanks to Caveman.
Good crowd. Great hair from Bruce and Glen.
In 50 minutes, the band played their entire catalog — including their latest, Otero War.
