Dr. Martens and Hello Kitty go back. A decade ago, we collaborated for our 50th anniversaries. And although we don’t seem similar. We have more in common than you might think. We share 60 years of alternative attitude. 60 years of going against the grain. And 60 years of dedicated wearers and fans. Our new collaboration goes out to them.
Hello Kitty’s humble beginnings started as a simple graphic on a purse. But it took off. Landing in the USA in the mid-70s, the brand resonated with Japanese-Americans who grew up during that era. And soon, it was everywhere. From Hello Kitty planes to Hello Kitty theme parks, she wasn’t just a purse anymore. She was a worldwide phenomenon.
We’ve brought our toughest silhouettes to life with colourful Sanrio motifs, fusing the classic, instantly recognisable features of both brands. Straps with bows, heart-shaped eyelets woven with sturdy laces, and towering soles stacked with Hello Kitty love hearts.
The Dr. Martens x Hello Kitty collaboration includes an empowering Jadon Quad, a 1461 Quad, a Vegan sandal, a kids boot and a range of accessories that includes a heart-shaped satchel, socks, laces, pin badge and lace jewel.
