DR. MARTENS X PLEASURES: A CAPSULE MUSIC COLLECTION
If you head over to the Pleasures website, you’ll see a small text banner scrolling across the bottom of the screen. Interspersed with Pleasures’ collection names (‘Artificial Romance’) and offbeat slogans (‘I Can’t Feel Anything’) are song titles: ‘How Soon Is Now?’ and ‘Bulls on Parade’. More often than not, the LA label’s radical designs can be traced back to music.
So it should come as no surprise that our collaboration with them is, first and foremost, a joint love letter to music. Specifically, 90s underground music: industrial and punk. Our iconic 3-eye shoe is reimagined, twice, with two standout monochrome graphics. The collection is complete with a matching black t-shirt and a pair of socks.
The Pleasures 1461 is a raw, unapologetic tribute to the 90s punk scene, decked out with a teeth design on the vamp and ‘NOW’ lettering at the heel.
Inspired by late 90s industrial music, the Pleasures Quad Retro is emblazoned with tribal graphic at the vamp and decked out with studs, checkerboard laces and a towering platform sole.
