Even if you haven’t heard of Rick Griffin, you’re probably familiar with his work. The Californian artist was at the forefront of the psychedelic design movement of the 60s and 70s, pioneering a lurid cartoonist style that continues to influence artists around the world to this day. Made famous by Jimi Hendrix, Rick’s ‘flying eyeball’ is amongst the most iconic images in rock music history.
It’s a privilege for us to pay homage to his staggering talent, but it’s also a bit of a no-brainer. Rick’s radical spirit is completely in tune with our rebellious DNA, and his vibrant illustrations are the perfect partner for our simple silhouettes.
This collection features a selection of some of his most memorable illustrations embossed on our 1460 and large backpack. Snap them up before they’re gone.
Rick’s famous eyeball design is a key design element on our 1460’s above, alongside cartoon graphics below.
