HERE’S WHAT YOU MISSED AT BEST KEPT SECRET FESTIVAL
In its 7th year, Best Kept Secret is held in Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek, the Netherlands, with stages scattered around the woodlands and it’s main stage located on the beach of a boating lake. With headline sets from Bon Iver,Christine and the Queens and a legendary 3-D performance from Kraftwerk, it was not to be missed. Beautiful surroundings plus a diverse mix of indie, rock, hip-hop and dance cemented Best Kept Secret as a key spot on our festival calendar.
Representing Dr. Martens passion for music, we had an open-air stand made up of two re-purposed shipping containers surrounding a decking area. Our DM’s deck chairs and benches gave visitors an ideal chill spot, with the DM’s parasols providing some much appreciated shade from the blistering sunshine that blessed the weekend.
Plus there were plenty of unique stage set-ups to go and catch your favourite artists.
The Dr. Martens stand hosted free customisation workshops with tattoo artists Hanne and Kevin from Blackbear Ink, who were on hand to give festival goers’ Docs a unique touch with their bespoke art.
If our Molly Glitter platforms weren’t festival ready enough, a custom artwork gave them some extra Docs attitude.
Our free barbershop saw Christoffer Gysels and Sarah Witlof providing well-needed fresh cuts.
Brixton-based post-punks Shame(recently dubbed “one of the most dangerous live bands of the moment”) stopped by to pick up some fresh DM’s prior to their 1am set on Stage Five.
Of course, we spotted plenty of festival-goers wearing their Docs throughout the festival.
After three non-stop days we even managed to catch a headline set from Christine and The Queens to close the festival out in style.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Dr. Martens stand and made Best Kept Secret one of the most exciting weekends in the festival calendar – see you next year!
