March brought an end to our fall/winter series of Dr. Martens Presents shows — but true to form, we didn’t go quietly. At Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, one of our most eclectic lineups played to a packed room, kicking off with Jackie Mendoza serving up a solo electro-folk set sung all in Spanish. Norway’s Das Body followed, with their romantic new wave that’s got the industry buzzing; then New Orleans queen DAWN brought the night to an end, showing off her incredible voice — and a sick pair of customized Caspians. Meanwhile, back in LA, locals Spare Parts for Broken Hearts filled the Hi Hat to capacity with their 90s throwback alt-rock sound, supported by the all-female Potty Mouth. And that wrapped up what was definitely an unforgettable season of shows — but don’t worry: we’ll be back next fall. In the meantime, check out these snapshots from Brooklyn and LA.
