Dr. Martens has a rebellious history often associated with free-thinkers, creatives and different subcultures. This is not only true of the Dr. Martens customer, but also the hard-working staff. They are our brand ambassadors that embody the DMs way of life. Keep following the blog as we highlight our staff from across the globe and celebrate their achievements and style.
My name is Henry. sales associate at the Antwerp store. When I’m not working I like to spend my time drawing, playing guitar with my best friends in the band SUN and making beats with Ableton.
I like dogs and cats too.
What Dr. Martens are you wearing today?
Black 1461’s. I wear them almost every day.
Tell us about your first Dr. Martens:
My first pair were the black 1460’s. I got them when I was 16. I was really into punk back then and Docs are part of the punk uniform. I wore them religiously for about 2 years until I lost them somewhere in Portugal the first time I went on tour with my second band.
How would you describe your style?
I’ve never liked to label myself but I guess my style is influenced by the skate/punk rock scene. I love black clothes because I don’t like thinking about what I’m going to wear.
Three tracks you’re listening to right now?
All mixtapes by Xavier Wulf – Ethelwulf
Sleep – OM
What’s your favourite thing about the city you live in?
I like Antwerp the most during the summer season. Skateparks and music venues are my favorite places to hang out at.
I also like the fact that Antwerp is a pocket-sized big city. Pretty much everything you want to do is within walking distance.
What are your top three picks this season?
Black mono 1460’s. Because I’m a sucker for all the original models
Cherry Red Adrians.
Looking forward to get the Archive Ally Black Creepers too!
What do you stand for?
I stand for being whoever you want to be and doing whatever makes you happy.
Being nice to people and animals is cool too.
