Welcome to In My Doc’s – the feature where we shine a spotlight on the very cool people who work in our stores and headquarters. Why? Well, because they’re the ones who really ‘live’ the rebellious, unique Dr. Martens brand… and know how to seriously rock a pair of Doc’s of course.
In this installment we meet Kiriakos Chatzis, our sales representative for South Germany and Austria. Read on to discover more about him.
What’s your name, what do you do and where are you from?
My name is Kiriakos Chatzis, I’m 29 years old and I live in Mannheim/Baden-Württemberg. I’m a representative for Doc’s in Germany.
What Dr. Martens products are you wearing right now?
I’m wearing the new 3989 Brogue shoes – I like the new fit and the yellow stitch.
Do you remember your first pair of Dr. Martens?
I bought my first pair of Dr. Martens – the classic 1461 Smooth in black – on a vacation in London in 2009. By wearing the shoes I realised for the first time what its like to wear comfortable and, at the same time, stylish leather shoes. Unfortunately I don’t have those shoes anymore. Overall I own about fifty pairs of Dr. Martens.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my Style as contemporary. My favorite piece of clothing is a light down jacket from Acne Studios at the moment. Currently my style icon is Gosha Rubchinsky.
What are the three tracks you have on repeat right now?
What’s the best thing about the city you live in?
I’ve lived in Mannheim for 9 years and I’m obsessed with the Jungbusch district. It’s a clash of different cultures and you can find a lot of good bars and restaurants there too. My favourite place to dance is TIME WARP – a Techno festival that takes place in Mannheim once a year. My favourite restaurant is Bei Gianni, a small family-operated Italian restaurant in Mannheim.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
If I could meet anyone, I would like to meet Cara Delevingne. I think she’s an authentic, cool and interesting person. I’ve followed her on Instagram for a while and she seems to be sympathetic and funny.
As I said, Gosha Rubchinsky inspires me a lot. I would love to show him around Mannheim. Also I would ask him three questions:
Who inspires him?
What kind of music does he listen to?
What’s his favourite dish?
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower I would choose to have the power to bring peace to the world.
I stand for happiness and no bad vibes.
And finally, what do you stand for?
I stand for happiness and no bad vibes. My mantra is just smile and the day starts right. I’m motivated by good music, good vibes and having fun while working.
