Teenager Liam was just the man to rock the casual Pressler canvas shoe for our brand new #WORNDIFFERENT campaign. A pro-wakeboarder, the freshly 18-year-old has finally finished his studies and is now ready to travel the world, doing what he loves.
You’re a wakeboarder. How did you get into that?
I started when I was just 8. My whole family did it, and me and my brother did it together all the time. We ended up really getting the bug for it and it all spiralled from there. I’m sponsored now, so I get paid to do what I love – which I’d do for free.
Are you going to continue your studies? Or are you over school now?
I just finished school actually, but that’s it for me. I never really liked school. At least I know what I want to do with my life, so I’m just eager to get out and do it. I’ll be travelling a lot this year for competitions and demos, so I’ve got a lot to look forward to. I feel lucky as most of my mates don’t know what they want to do yet.
How would you describe your personal style?
It’s that wakeboarder style, which is kind of skate influenced. Baggy jumpers, skinny jeans. I look to kind of street style for my look.
What’s coming up for you this summer?
I’ll be going to a lot of festivals, there’s an extreme sports festival in France that’s fun. So I’ll wakeboard during the day and get pissed at night. I want to win another championship this year too, so I’m working hard.
It doesn’t matter if I get hurt, as long as I’m getting better.
What do you stand for?
Pain is temporary, glory is forever. That’s how I live my life, I’m a daredevil and I’ll try my hardest at everything. It doesn’t matter if I get hurt, as long as I’m getting better.
