Struggling to get creative at home? We asked LA artist and Docs SXSW muralist, Mollie Tuggle to create some Docs inspired downloadable colouring sheets for you to get stuck into. Mollie Tuggle’s aesthetic is distinct: her psychedelic art would look right at home on a Doors poster… from 1969. With strong lines and powerful use of colour and font, Mollie’s bold, cosmic illustrations have graced everything from Cat Power show posters to sculptures and murals for our SXSW shows.
Mollies creative Tips:
Start with a pencil & draw onto bristol paper, it’s thick and smooth so the ink doesn’t bleed through.
The linework is done with liquid ink, using paintbrushes allows for more fluid lines and more control of your design.
Find a starting point and allow the images to grow from each other to fill the page or use tracing paper to test how your separate designs fit together. This is how Mollie achieves her psychedelic style work.
