MONDIAL DU TATOUAGE 2019: THE ROUND UP
The 9th edition of Mondial du Tatouage has just wrapped up. With 420 tattoo artists, over 35,000 visitors, gigs, awards and a punk photography exhibition, it was a hell of a weekend. We know because we were there. We took two artists along, La Renarde and Anna Wanda Gogusey, and offered tattoo-enthusiasts free Docs customisation and access to our photo booth.
Here are some of the pictures we took, starring DMs, renegade street style and, of course, lots of seriously cool tattoos.
Rebellious style and spirit was out in full force throughout the festival, from the tattoos we saw to the ways Docs were styled.
And believe us, we saw a lot of #drmartensstyle.
Our classic cherry-red 1460s got a refresh with a trip to our customisation stand.
Docs fans also came along to check out the styles from our latest Sex Pistols collaboration.
Our artists were on hand to add some unique custom designs to Docs.
And of course, we spent a lot of time checking out the incredible artwork from the tattooists across the world, including exhibition from french photographer Roland Cros.
Roland’s work has immortalized the french punk scene from 1986 to 1991. He was also the photographer of the Bérurier Noir band.
The exhibition highlighted his recently released book, named “Pogo“.
