Since 2003, Afropunk has grown from a cult classic documentary into a cultural movement. Every year, it celebrates the alternative black community at Afropunk fests in Brooklyn, Paris, Atlanta, London, and Johannesburg. It’s a music festival, with acts like Solange, SZA, and Sampha, but everyone knows it’s also a chance to showcase your sickest threads. New York City did not disappoint. The Dr. Martens team were on hand throughout the weekend, bringing you shows at the Pink stage, a one-of-a-kind mural by Oluseye, and snapping your best Doc’s streetstyle. Check out some of our favorite looks.
