HOW TO STYLE THE CROC COLLECTION

Meet our Croc collection: leather embossed with a faux crocodile print bringing a next-level luxury and classic English feel to our selection of Doc’s. This on-trend faux animal skin sits on three classic Dr. Martens styles – the Pascal, the Church boot and the Adrian tassel loafer – and elevates them to desirable fashion items. Make sure you snap them up…

We caught up with stylist Kylie Griffiths, creative director Portia Ferrari and fashion stylist and blogger Kitty Cowell to see how they’re styling the new collection.

Introduce yourself:
Portia
: I’m Portia. I love life and all the good things in it. I’m also a bit cray, but I think life is better lived as individually and ‘abnormal’ as possible. I work and play in the fashion and beauty industry as a makeup and hair artist, I’m the Co-Creative Director & Editor of Noctis Magazine and I’m also an actress. I express myself in many different ways as a creative. I keep an open mind & heart and keep it as real as possible.

Kitty: I’m Kitty Cowell, I’m a full time fashion stylist and blogger. I express myself through my style; my hair, make up and fashion choices. My music taste is a big part of who I am and that is often visible through what I wear.

Kylie: I’m Kylie Griffiths a creative director and surfer. I run DIY Creative Agency and London Girls Surf Club. I express myself through my work – I love that I get to combine my passion for surfing as a career.

I’ve styled the collection with a bit of a rock chic vibe. I’ve used mesh over check and fishnets with leather. And added coloured lenses to bring depth to an other-wise dark look.

How would you describe your style? How are you styling the Croc collection this season?
Portia:
I guess my style swings from masculine to feminine looks, influenced by the 80’s-90’s. I love the low cut Croc Church boot paired with a high-waisted skirt because it nips you in at the waist and shows off your legs. It’s still quite laid back and effortless with Denim jacket and mesh top.

Kitty: My style is a contradiction of influences, a juxtaposition. I’ve styled the collection with a bit of a rock chic vibe. I’ve used mesh over check and fishnets with leather. And added coloured lenses to bring depth to an other-wise dark look.

Kylie: My style is very chilled out. I’m always on the road so I have a staple of basics that I alternate between. I love rocking my Croc boots with smart tailored trousers and an oversized white shirt and  I love how they contrast the smart look and dress it down.

What does Dr. Martens mean to you?
Portia:
Dr Martens to me means authenticity, originality and staying true to yourself.

Kitty: It means punk rock and good soles! My dad’s been putting me in DM’s since I could walk.

Kylie: It means heritage and punk rock! DM’s have always been a staple shoe for me.

And finally, what do you stand for?
Portia: I stand for unity, love, art and everything that falls under that.

Kitty: I stand for owning who you are being yourself. Never be scared to follow what you believe in. I believe in freedom of speech and being true to yourself.

Kylie: I stand for equality and happiness. I champion unisex style and self love… And punk rock! There’s never enough punk rock…
