THE 1460 REMASTERED: DR. MARTENS x BEAMS x BABYLON
For our third collaboration of the 1460 Remastered series collaboration, we’ve partnered up with Japanese streetwear label Beams and LA label Babylon. Coming together to fuse our shared punk heritage, this East meets West 3-way collaboration sees the two creatives remaster our most iconic silhouette.
Beams’ first bricks-and-mortar store was modelled on a UCLA dorm room. Wedged in the heart of the Harajuku district, the idea of the store was to reflect the brand’s preppy, west-coast collage aesthetic. Their passion for taking American youth culture and reimagining it through a Japanese lens, often known as ‘California-by-the-way-of-Japan’, has allowed them to carve out their own space. And they’re not slowing down.
Seamlessly blending into our collaborative trio, Babylon is where brand meets band. Co-founders Lee Spielman and Garrett Stevenson have been heavily involved in the punk/hardcore scene for over a decade — giving Babylon a tangible connection between music and fashion. Heavily inspired by the southern Californian skate and hardcore scene, their punk rock roots reflect in their clothing
An imaginative amalgamation of the three brands, the 1460 Beams x Babylon boot is detailed with a triple-branded lace charm and standout debossment on the tongue. We’ve swapped our yellow stitching and heel loop for black and orange, with 3 matching sets of laces in black, olive and orange. “Chaos” is debossed on the quarters, and the boots sit on a triple branded sole pad.02
